Russian drone strikes injure over 40 in Kharkiv, kill one in Dnipro
Russian forces launched a drone strike on the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv on Tuesday evening, injuring more than 40 people, according to local officials.
Mayor Ihor Terekhov said the city was attacked by 16 drones, with strikes hitting residential buildings — including apartment complexes — as well as hospitals, industrial sites, and key infrastructure.
According to Governor Oleh Syniehubov, 45 people sought medical attention, including two children and a pregnant woman. Fourteen people were wounded, five of whom were hospitalized. Some of the injured were in serious condition, Terekhov said.
The attack damaged or destroyed homes, garages, and infrastructure facilities, and sparked at least 10 fires across the city, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.
In a separate strike early on Wednesday, Russian drones targeted the Ukrainian city of Dnipro, killing one person — a 53-year-old man — and injuring a 78-year-old local resident, according to Serhiy Lysak, the regional governor.
