U.S. President Donald Trump used another expletive when commenting on foreign policy on Tuesday. “We get a lot of bullshit thrown at us by Putin, if you want to know the truth,” Trump told reporters. “He’s very nice all the time, but it turns out to be meaningless.” The U.S. president noted that he remains willing to engage in dialogue with Putin but emphasized that he is dissatisfied with Russia’s continued airstrikes on Ukrainian cities.

“He’s killing too many people,” Trump said of Putin, explaining why he ordered the U.S. to resume weapons shipments to Ukraine. In the same exchange with journalists, however, Trump said he didn’t know who ordered the pause in military aid announced last week.

The U.S. president also noted that he is “very seriously” considering a new sanctions package against Russia proposed by Senator Lindsey Graham, though he declined to provide details when asked.

On June 24, commenting on accusations that Israel and Iran had violated a U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreement, Trump said, “We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the fuck they’re doing.”
