U.S. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard signed a directive in late July barring the sharing of any intelligence related to Russian–Ukrainian peace negotiations with other members of the Five Eyes alliance, CBS News reported, citing U.S. intelligence sources.
The directive, dated July 20, classified all information tied to the talks as NOFORN (“no foreign dissemination”), meaning it cannot be shared with foreign governments. Only information already made public may be disclosed.
According to CBS News, the restriction does not cover operational military intelligence — including data the United States provides to the Ukrainian military to support its defense.
